Martina one of the 10 most influential stars in the past ten years,
1994-2003, in the10th anniversary Country Weekly edition. This edition,
March 16th 2004, has 5 different covers featuring Alan Jackson, Garth Brooks
Tim McGraw, Shania Twain, and George Strait. The top ten list includes Toby
Keith, Shania Twain, Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, George Strait,
Alan Jackson, Dixie Chicks, Martina McBride, Vince Gill.
After performing with
Alan Jackson during a concert in Roanoke, VA, at the Civic Center Martina
called in to After MidNite and talked with Blair Garner. They had a
brief conversation, Blair commented that that other than his daughters
Martina and John have two of the most beautiful girls in the world. To top
it off "In My Daughter's Eyes" was #1 on after MidNite that night, meaning
it was the most requested song on his show in the last 24 hours.
Martina will be
on Delilah's radio show, the evening of February 26, 2004.
The following is the
basics of the show, including parts of what Martina said, and a basic
summary of what happened. The parts with Martina talking has gaps in it.
Martina was on the
phone line with Delilah. At first they talked about Delaney and Emma, how
Delaney is now preteen age, Delilah asked if she did "the eye rolling
thing." Martina's answer was "yes." They talked some more and then
played "This Ones For The Girls". During more of the Interview Martina
said "John and I can have a conversation about the kids at school and then
talk about the record company... its all kind of one big thing... I'm kind
of a last word gal. Then there were chemicals. Delilah later asked if when
John and Martina are in an argument does John turn the volume down on
Martina, Martina said something to the affect of, he wouldn't do that.
Before playing "In My Daughters Eyes" there was more conversation. "I just
love that song ("In My Daughters Eyes"), I love singing it, we all talk
about how our children are helpless and... "...she was sent to rescue me "
and that's the truth ... there's really no way to describe ...and I thought
this song came the closest to describe it, it's really about your child and
how they change your life (Your child, i.e. Delilah talked about raising her
son alone, the song being about sons and daughters), I've never heard a song
that does it so right.." "In My daughter's Eyes" was then played. That's
basically it.
Serena Doyle and
her Daughter, Natalie, from Massachusetts were personally picked from the
entry's sent in. The prize, an appearance in a Martina McBride music video
and a trip to New York to appear on the Today Show.
The first in an
Advertorial Series, "Award-Winning Looks",
Martina is the feature of a four page advertisement for Amplify that
can be seen in Us Weekly, as of February 13, 2004,
Martina
McBride 29 other celebrities are decorating helmets for southern
California's firefighters to raise money for the "Heroes & Heroines

gala will to give back to the 15,000 firefighters fought off the wildfires
last fall that destroyed 750,000 acres over a 100-mile-plus area. Monies

My Daughter's Eye's" and "Blue Moon of Kentucky" on The Grand Ole Opry
during the televised portion of the show on GAC. Those watching live got to
see "I Love You" preformed by Martina.
Without skipping a beat after the
Grammy's Martina and John appeared on "After MidNite", a radio show
available throughout the US, Martina shared her thoughts on the Grammy's:
"I was very proud to represent Country
music, but I wish that we'd have had more artists on there. We've had
so much great music this year, and just so many great artists that it
would've been a great opportunity to show the world how great Country
music is. It's the Grammy's! I mean, they're very well respected. It's
very prestigious, but they're a little, you know, different than other
award shows. I think that's what makes them the Grammy's."
February 9th, 2004, Martina didn't win "Best
Female Country Vocal Performance" for her song "This One's For The Girls" or
"Best Short Form, Music Video"
for her Video for "Concrete Angel". But she elegantly represented Country
Music with a spin-tingling performance of "Concrete Angel".

MARTINA AND KATY PROUD TO BE
LITTLE PEOPLE
Neither Martina McBride nor Katie Couric are small enough to qualify as
"little people," but they did seem to recognize that neither of them are
that much taller than a real little person. It happened at a recent Mothers
and Shakers ceremony where McBride and Couric received awards. According to
the Tennessean they got together when one said, "You're so little and cute!"
With the other responding, ''Oh no, YOU're so little and cute!''
THE RESULT is that Couric invited Martina to the Today Show this Thursday to
discuss Martina's efforts in battling domestic violence, according to the
Tennessean.
McBride holiday show a hit
Posted on Tuesday, December 9 2003
By Lisa Denton Deputy Features
Editor - Chattanooga Free Times
By intermission of her show at McKenzie Arena on Thursday night, Martina
McBride had delivered eight songs, four costume changes, a Christmas story,
a visit from Santa Claus, home videos of McBride family Christmases and two
confetti snowstorms. Anyone who couldn't find "The Joy of Christmas" in that
package probably wouldn't like the residents of Whoville, either. The
two-hour multimedia spectacular by country music's top female vocalist
included theater, video, special effects, elaborate sets and audience
participation.
She opened the show with the sights and sounds of Christmas: "Let It Snow"
and "Silver Bells." An invitation for story time found her swamped by
children. She read "A Visit From St. Nicholas," then led them in singing
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" and "Jingle Bells," which heralded the
arrival of the Jolly Old Elf.
With 12 cast members and ever-changing sets, the action backstage was
undoubtedly chaotic, but Ms. McBride sailed effortlessly through the
evening. The finale featured Scripture readings and Ms. McBride's powerhouse
vocals on "Silent Night" and "What Child Is This? "She closed with a
stunning a cappella rendition of "O Holy Night," the highlight of the show
for Loretta Hanson, 15, of Soddy-Daisy. "It will blow you away," she said.
Perhaps no one was happier with the evening, though, than Markis Pratt and
his father, Tommy Pratt, of Dalton, Ga. Ms. McBride embraced both men after
Markis told her, "You look like you could use a hug."

NEW YORK, NY Thursday 12.4.2003 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- On December 18,
Martina McBride will be featured in a profile story and will appear live on
NBC's "Today" show. The booking came as a result of a chance meeting at a
luncheon held by Redbook Magazine honoring the women featured in their "Mothers
and Shakers" issue.
The "Today" show's Katie Couric and Martina were among the honorees, and both
addressed the audience at the luncheon. Upon hearing Martina speak of her
devotion to her family and her passion for her work with domestic violence
awareness, Katie was so impressed she felt compelled to do a profile on her.
Also, Martina will appear on ESPN's new hit morning show, "Cold Pizza." Martina
will discuss her winning streak for sporting teams when she sings the National
Anthem at their home games. "Cold Pizza" airs live 7AM ET - 9AM ET on ESPN2. The

Martina Appearing On The Today Show December
18th!!
Martina will appear on the Today show on December 18th for an
interview with Katie Couric and to perform two songs. Be sure to set your VCR's
(or Tivo's) for this one!!
Martina continued her reign as country music's leading female
artist when she won her third CMA Female Vocalist of the Year award November 5,
during a live CBS telecast from Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House. She had
previously won the award last year and in 1999.
During the awards telecast Martina received a standing ovation for her
performance of "In My Daughter's Eyes," which will be the next single from her
recently released album, "Martina."
Martina has also taken home the ACM Top Female Vocalist award for the last two
years.
Singer is 23-2 For Wins After Singing National Anthem
Martina McBride is on a winning streak. Not only has the country superstar won
back-to-back ACM and CMA Female Vocalist of the Year honors (as well as
countless others), she’s also nearly perfect in the sporting arena. It’s true:
When sports teams have Martina McBride sing the national anthem at their home
games, they can almost guarantee a win. In the last decade, Martina has
performed the national anthem at 25 different major sporting events and only
twice did the home team lose.
Just recently, Martina sang the National Anthem before the NFL match up of the
Tennessee Titans vs. the Miami Dolphins in Nashville, TN (November 9). After
Martina sang the anthem, the Titans went on to run all over the Dolphins’ highly
ranked defense and win the game resolutely with a score of 31-7.
The only blemishes on her nearly perfect record are from a Dallas Cowboy game in
2001 and a Nashville Predators match in 2002. “Oh, well. Can’t win ‘em all, I
guess,” laughed Martina. Certainly not, but if a team really needs a win, it
wouldn’t hurt to have Martina on your side.
MARTINA HAPPY TO SEE COUNTRY HERITAGE RECOGNIZED
With this year's CMA nominations for artists like Dolly Parton and Patty
Loveless and the awards given posthumously to Johnny Cash, Martina McBride says
she was pleased.
"Well, I think it's amazing that these legends are getting
recognized. And I love the fact, one of the things I've always loved about
country music is, I've always felt like, that we have a history and we have a
heritage and we have a tradition that we respect and look up to and try to
uphold. So seeing those artists who some of them who haven't been nominated for
many years, get nominated
MARTINA SATISFIED WITH SLOW BUILDING CAREER
Martina McBride says that the initial slow build of her career was some of the
worst and best of times.
"The beginning of my career was sometimes two steps forward and one back, and
sometimes one step forward and two steps back. We never built momentum and it
was kind of discouraging," she admits. "But, looking back it in hindsight it's
also the most joyous because it's allowed me to build a really strong fan base
and have time to really enjoy this and still be here 11 years later and it's
just such a gift to still have a career so long into this," she said after
receiving her third CMA Female vocalist of the year award.
The 'Eyes' Have It
Martina McBride receive 32 adds at Country for "In My Daughter's Eyes" — enough
to win her the Most Added title at the format. The song, from her current
release, Martina, also debuts at No. 49* on R&R's Country chart this week.

at the CMA Awards on Nov. 5 — where she took home the Female Vocalist of the
Year award as well.
MARTINA'S RECORDING ROUTINE: DINNER, KIDS TO BED, RECORD
Martina McBride and her husband John recorded her new album MARTINA in their own
studio. So for several months the routine was sometimes, dinner, bed-down the
kids, make a record.
"It was, yeah. A lot of times we would, after dinner just he and I would go down
there. We'd put the girls to bed and get a baby sitter and we'd go -- 'cause the
studio is really close enough, about 2 minutes from the house, so we'd go down
and just experiment and sing and do some work," Martina explains.
"And it was great to be able to do that and have some privacy, first of all,
'cause not everybody's standing around listening and you could just really focus
on what you're doing and just have the freedom to sing what I felt like singing.
When I felt the mood strike that I wanted to go sing I could just go down there
and do it, it was great." From the countrystars.com
FEMALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR - MARTINA McBRIDE FELT
HONORED
As she picked up her third Female Vocalist trophy, Martina McBride said, "I
don't know what to say…I'm so honored to be in this category, Dolly Parton, my
God. Patty Loveless,
I sang in my dad's band, "Don't Toss us Away," "Timber." Alison (Krauss), you
know what I think of your music and Terri you've done so well. I just thank you,
I don't know what to say. This is more than I ever expected, to have won this
three times."
CMA Awards Dominates Ratings
Last night's (11/5) 37th annual CMA Awards dominated the evening's prime-time
television ratings, winning in every half-hour and in categories including
viewers, households, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34. CBS estimates
more than 40 million viewers tuned in, making it the most watched CMA Awards

Martina's Award Destined for Kitchen
Martina McBride won her third trophy for CMA female vocalist, but she hasn't
cleared any shelf space for it yet. "It's going to sit on the kitchen table for
about three weeks, and then I'll figure out what to do with it after that," she
told reporters backstage. Even with her success, she says she's not dreaming of
the night's biggest award -- entertainer of the year. "I can't even think about
that. I'm not the kind of person that sets goals. This music industry is so
crazy, and so much of it is out of your control. You just have to hang on and
enjoy the ride. This is more than I ever expected, to win this three times, so
everything else is icing on the cake." 11/6/03 from cmt.com

featuring Martina McBride’s “Independence Day”
and Tanya Tucker’s “Would
You Lay With Me in a Field of Stone.”
In 1995, “Independence Day” brought spousal abuse to the airwaves and quickly
established McBride as a powerful and socially aware singer. Tucker
recorded the sexually suggestive song “Would You Lay With Me …” at age 15,
leading some to question the adults supporting her career.

Martina To Grace The
Cover Of Country Music Today Magazine!! Posted on
Martina's Official Site On Tuesday, October 7 2003
Martina will appear on the cover of the November / December issue of Country
Music Today. Below is an excerpt from the article:
Martina McBride has evolved from young, corn-fed, family-band performer to
sophisticated superstar and reigning Country Music Association Female Vocalist.
She’s notched another smash single with “This One’s for the Girls.” But above
all, she remains a wife and mother first, a performer and an inspiration to
women everywhere second. And just what’s she’s doing “for the guys”…well, she’s
still working that out.
It’s a typically hot summer afternoon in Nashville. Tucked away in the trendy
Berry Hill neighborhood is Blackbird Studio. The building’s owners since 2002,
Martina McBride and husband, John, arrive with their two daughters, Delaney, 8,
and Emma, 5. While John, an audio engineer who met Martina while working the
sound board for Garth Brooks in the ’80s, starts working in the control room,
Martina gets the girls settled in another room, and gets ready to talk about her
new album, of which we’re about to get an exclusive sneak preview. Soon she’s on
the edge of her seat, as if she’s anticipating something. Sure enough, after a
few minutes, Emma breezes in, holding a large sheet of paper on which she’s been
sketching. Perhaps inspired by the family’s outing the night before – they saw
the horseracing film, Seabiscuit, to celebrate Martina’s birthday – Emma has
drawn a horse. In amazement, Martina asks if the 5-year-old had any help with
it. Emma assures her she did the drawing all on her own, copying a photo from a
newspaper. Convinced, and suitably impressed, Mama sends the youngster from the
room to play with her older sister. Emma, who entered kindergarten this fall,
also has a gift for abstract sketches. “It’s the most amazing thing, she’ll say,
‘Here’s a cat in a ballerina suit.’”
And according to
Martina, her older daughter, Delaney, who’s in third grade this
year, is proving to be something of a musicologist. Although she’s a fan of pop
divas Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera and the like, Delaney’s birthday gift
to Martina was a copy of Patsy Cline’s Greatest Hits. In spite of the fact that
she’s released seven critically-lauded (and multi-platinum-selling) albums since
her 1992 debut, it’s seems easier for Martina McBride to talk about her
children’s artistic expressions than about her own...

A
compilation Album titled "Remembering Patsy Cline", due September 9th from MCA,
features a wide spectrum of female singers taking their turns with songs
popularized by Cline, who crossed over from country to the pop charts with a
string of hits in the late Fifties and early Sixties. The twelve tracks on the
tribute are the twelve tracks from Cline's Greatest Hits album, a jukebox
favorite and multi-million seller over the past thirty years.
The release date for Remembering Patsy Cline falls just one day after what would
have been Cline's seventy-first birthday.
FIVE MORE DAYS!!! I cannot wait! A little info regarding some of the posts: The
river mentioned in So Magical is one of the writer's daughter's name. How Far is
a power ballad - one of my absolute favorites! How Far and Daughter's Eyes are
probably the two main contenders for the next single although do not rule
something else out. Martina is going to do some radio visits next week and I
will stay home with the kids - waaaahhh - We'll miss her but she will never be
gone more than 2 days in a row. I am in shock that Amazon actually gave her a
favorable review. Martina is really excited about her Crossroads with Pat
Benatar. After reading more about Pat Benatar, she seems to have a lot in common
with Martina - 2 girls, big voice, a husband that won't go away, etc. Hah Hah.
Being on an Apple computer I am not able to get the song a day from CMT - I hope
it sounds OK coming over a computer. Martina sang background two nights ago on a
song by a band called "Big and Rich" - John Rich (previously in Lonestar) and
Big Kenny are the two guys who wrote "She's A Butterfly" - that album will be
out sometime next year. She will be performing on the CMA Awards - not sure what
song yet. The Christmas Tour has fifteen stops this year - most of them close
enough for the school routing, and Oklahoma City will be the last stop December
22 (Delaney's b-day). The single is doing well and should continue to climb -
keep your fingers crossed! Martina is currently reading East of Eden and loves
it - I have started it myself (yes we really do know how to read). Life is busy
and wonderful and fall is about here - the weather in Nashville has been
beautiful this week. The Red Hot Chili Peppers are mixing some of their next
album at out studio, but they are not here, just their engineers.
Martina's song on the Patsy Cline album is the 1st thing we ever recorded in our
studio. MCA contacted Martina and asked to be on that album and told her they
wanted a "different" version of Patsy's songs. They told us there were jazz,
big-band, etc. versions and she should do something different than country, so
that is how that came about. Martina is excited about life in general and still
the greatest person I have ever met. Hope everyone is happy, healthy and well.
Hopefully we will see some of you on the road - take care! John
I should proof read these posts before I hit send - I meant to say the RHCP are
mixing some of their
There are two in-stores in the near future - Atlanta and Chicago - and for the
life of me I do not know the dates but I am sure anyone who lives there could
find out. Mark didn't answer his mobile a little bit ago so I am not sure when
they are exactly. I know Martina has been signing CD booklets for the last 3
days in order to get a jump on the signing at the in-stores - we want everyone
to be able to get an autograph. Getting ready to jump on the bus for MA and CT
this weekend - take care everybody! John

United Stations Radio Networks, Inc., (USRN) has finalized an arrangement with
Martina McBride by which the Award-Winning Vocalist will serve as Special Guest

The Fabulous Females of Country. McBride will co-present the show with Lisa
Dent, midday personality at WUSN-FM, "US-99", Chicago. This four-part,
eight-hour special was originally titled The Fabulous Females of Country, and
the new title shares its name with and reflects the success of Martina’s current
Top 10 hit, "This One’s For the Girls."
The series, which is scheduled to air for two-hours per weekend during each of
the four weekends of October, is written and produced for United Stations by
Neil Haislop’s Country Forever Productions.
The program will feature interviews with and music from Shania Twain, Faith
Hill, Reba McEntire, The Dixie Chicks, and dozens of other influential and

The announcement of McBride’s addition to the production came from USRN’s EVP/Programming,
Andy Denemark who explained the concept for the series.
"It’s the women who’ve changed the landscape of the Country format the most over
the past number of years, and it felt like time to review it all in one solid
special," said Denemark. He added, "To have Martina be part of this series is
thrilling, but it’s especially great right now with her current hit being so
thematically connected to what we’re doing."
This One’s For the Girls: The Fabulous Females of Country is scheduled as part
of the Country Giants series, also produced by Neil Haislop’s Country Forever
Productions. It is also available to radio stations independently of that series
and market exclusive, barter basis through United Stations. The series is the
fifth annual October series distributed by United Stations and each one has been
provided in the same four-part, eight-hour format.

Martina Receives Two CMA Nominations, Releasing New
CD In September!! Posted on Wednesday, August 27 2003
Nashville, TN (August 26, 2003) – Martina McBride announced the nominees for
this year’s CMA Awards at a press conference held at the Grand Ole Opry this
morning. Onstage, Martina McBride learned she was, once again, nominated for CMA
“Female Vocalist of the Year.” She won the award last year and in 1996. She also
took “Top Female Vocalist” honors at the Academy of Country Music awards for the
last two years. In addition, Martina’s poignant and heartrending “Concrete
Angel” video is nominated for the CMA Video of the Year award. The video
recently earned two CMT Flameworthy honors. The CMA Awards will be broadcast on
CBS from Nashville on November 5th.
Martina is readying for the release of her 8th CD, Martina, due in stores on
September 30th. The disc is the highly anticipated follow up to her
double-platinum selling, Greatest Hits collection. The first single, “This One’s
For The Girl’s” features an all-star chorus of Faith Hill, Carolyn Dawn Johnson,
Martina’s daughters Delaney and Emma and two of the song’s writers, Hillary
Lindsay and Aimee Mayo on the chorus.
On her award nominations, Martina said, “It’s truly been a great year for me.
I’ve had a lot of wonderful things happen in my career. Still, hearing your name
read as a CMA nominee never gets old! It’s always a great honor to be nominated,
especially when you’re nominated alongside such amazingly talents. I couldn’t be
more thrilled!
MARTINA MCBRIDE RELEASES MARTINA ON SEPTEMBER 30!!! Posted on Tuesday, September 9 2003
September 8, 2003–Nashville, TN– Country superstar Martina McBride will release
her much anticipated new CD, Martina, on September 30th. The disc is the first
studio release of all new music in four years and follows her double-platinum
Greatest Hits CD that spawned the four smash hits “Blessed,” “Concrete Angel,”
“Where Would You Be” and “When God-Fearin’ Women Get the Blues.”
Throughout her 12-year recording career, Martina has sold nearly eight million
albums, produced six #1 hit songs and filled her mantle with industry and fan
voted awards.
In fact, over the past two years, Martina has won nearly every honor that could
possibly be bestowed. To count, she has won back-to-back ACM Top Female Vocalist
awards, the CMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year award, the American Music Award’s
Favorite Female Country Artist honor, back-to-back CMT Flameworthy Awards for
“Concrete Angel” and “Blessed,” Country Weekly’s Favorite Female Artist award
and the Billboard Music Award for Country Female Artist of the Year. She is once
again nominated for the CMA’s Female Vocalist of the Year Award as well as Video
of the Year for “Concrete Angel.”
Martina’s impact on the industry was also exemplified when she ranked #25 on
CMT’s list of the all time “Greatest Women of Country Music” and her song
“Independence Day” was ranked #9 on their list of “100 Greatest Songs of Country
Music” list.
Billboard’s Airplay Monitor recently released the findings of their yearly poll
which asks country program and music directors to list their core artists, and
revealed Martina McBride tied with Shania Twain as the top females and she
overtook the Dixie Chicks and Faith Hill as the format’s former core acts.
There are no signs of slowing down. The first single from Martina, “This One’s
For the Girls” is already in the top ten at country radio. The track, written by
Hillary Lindsey and Aimee Mayo, (both of whom provide background vocals) and
Chris Lindsey, features additional background vocals by Faith Hill, Carolyn Dawn
Johnson and Martina's two daughters, Delaney and Emma.
For the new CD, Martina once again turned to long-time producer Paul Worley to
co-produce the tracks with her. The album was recorded in John and Martina
McBride’s brand new state of the art studio, Blackbird, located in the Berry
Hill neighborhood of Nashville, TN. Recording the tracks at Blackbird gave
Martina the flexibility to work on the songs anytime, day or night even by
herself if necessary. The studio’s relaxed atmosphere and customized kitchen
offered a home away from home for Martina and her family during the recording
process. Martina could even prepare dinner for her family on occasion and the
dining room table did double time as a desk on which her two young daughters
could work on school and art projects.
Martina tapped some of Nashville’s greatest voices, arrangers and songwriters
for Martina. Vince Gill provided guest vocals on "Wearing White," a song written
by Lisa Drew and Tommy Lee James and Ricky Skaggs stepped in to arrange the
instruments on “Reluctant Daughter,” a song written by Sally Barris and Jon
Vezner. Fellow female vocalist, Jamie O'Neal contributed "How Far," a tune she
co-wrote with Shaye Smith and Ed Hill. John Rich and Big Kenny (better known as
Warner Bros. recording act, Big and Rich) penned the cut, "She's A Butterfly”
and the team of Angelo, Brett James and Hillary Lindsey provided “So Magical”
and “When You Love Me.” The CD’s final track is a live version of “Over the
Rainbow” with arrangements by Martina and Jim Medlin.
On September 17th, the Recording Academy will bestow upon Martina their
Recording Academy Heroes Award in Washington, DC. This is the Grammy
organization’s highest honor and recognizes those who have improved the lives of
music makers and those who use the power of music to improve the lives of all
Americans. Each year, the award is given to one Senator, one Congressperson, one
recording artist, and one local nonprofit organization. Martina is being
recognized for her work with domestic violence organizations and other
charities. Other honorees are Senator John McCain, Congressman Bill Delahunt,
and the Music Therapy organization of the Maryland School of the Blind.
Martina will also be recognized at the 6th Annual Redbook “Mothers and Shakers”
Awards at the Lincoln Center in New York Cityon September 16th. The event
recognizes women who have mentored and inspired others to lead happier,
healthier and more fulfilling lives. Martina is being honored for her work with
various domestic violence organizations and for recording songs which have
impacted and changed the lives of many including “Independence Day,' “Broken
Wing," “Love’s The Only House” and “Concrete Angel” just to name a few. Some of
the other fourteen honorees are Stockard Channing, Katie Couric, Jewel, Kyra
Sedgwick, and Cynthia Nixon.
A full slate of radio and media visits as well as retail in-store appearances
are scheduled around the release of the CD.

currently available on our eBay auction!!
The script and hat are from Martina's very first television special, "Full Speed
Ahead". The picture does not do the hat justice - the autograph really looks a
lot better in person, but it was hard to keep the fabric straight when taking
the picture. The script and hat are definitely one of a kind - a true
collector's item. And I thought the ACM souvenir book was a cool item simply
because she had signed it and it was from the year 2000. Happy bidding! Here is

There is one song, however, made expressly for the album. Called "When Love
Rules the World," it's the signature song of SHARE, scheduled to be released on
August 4, and features around 20 country stars, including Rhett Akins, Sherrie
Austin, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Collin Raye, Hal Ketchum, Martina McBride and

they say the same thing about Aunt Jemima?

of a Country Music Retirement Center, which will give music industry retirees a

Opry member Martina McBride, a member of the center’s board of directors, will
accept an initial $50,000 check during Saturday’s (July 26) performance of
“Grand Ole Opry Live” on the CMT television channel.
“It is our duty to ensure that the people that came before us and helped

The show was great! It was by far the best Martina show I've been to. She looked
wonderful, and the crowd was crazy about her. Hank Williams Jr. followed
Martina's performance, and she was by far the better show....and that is coming
from other, non Martinaholics in the crowd. And I heard a rumor that the crowd
was estimated at 60,000 people, but don't quote me on that, it wasn't anything
official. The set list was about the same as Comstock, with the exception of
taking out From The Ashes and adding In My Daughter's Eye's, loved seeing that
one live. The only bad thing about the whole concert was the seating...We were
about 50 rows back and that was only about 1/4 (maybe even a little closer)
back. I got a few pictures, well alot actually, but even being that far back,
they are ok.
They had up and comers there performing their original songs, and one of them
works for a publishing company in Nashville, and was more than willing to answer
questions. And as you read I was won over by Miss Shevy Smith, she is a 20 yr
old Kanas native, and the one that writes songs for the publishing Co. down
there, and she has traveled with quite a few bigger named artists. And Amy
Chappell from Nashville star performed, but I missed her question and answer
part. I saw about 4 artists, I think. It was really inspiring. - Pearl
I was back about 20 rows, but it was still good. And it was reported that her
concert that one night of the 4 days of concerts, was the highest attended of
the festival, with about 15,000 in attendance....which if you knew where
Comstock Nebraska was, you'd understand that that was an ungodly amount of
people....lol When Martina came out, of course she was wearing all black, but
looked wonderful. I thought she sounded slightly different at first, but then
once she got warmed up seemed to be on! During the first song she was getting
hit by bugs, BIG bugs....and when the song was done she said something to the
effects of, "Wow, those are some big bugs, I know, y'all are taking bets when
the first one will be in my mouth." Very funny, but the bugs wouldn't leave her
alone. She had to keep brushing her hair to get rid of them while she was
singing....Poor Girl....She pretty much sang the same set list everyone has been
posting...She did add From The Ashes, she said it wasn't part of the list, but
just felt like singing it..........Even she just feels like singings
sometimes.....I thought that was funny, I thought only us wanna be's "just feels
like singing" nonstop...lol She did sing Harper Valley PTA and Somewhere Over
The Rainbow, and I still say Harper Valley is the better of the 2, too many
artists have killed Somewhere Over The Rainbow. And she did sing Concrete Angel
and This One's For The Girls. The crowd loved the new single. And why wouldn't
they, it's a fun, upbeat, almost whimsical, carefree song. Oh, and I don't know
that I'd ever heard Life #9 live before and she did that in her encore . It was
a good show! - Pearl
Martina Sung Tammy Wynette's song "Stand By Your Man", the #1 song. Martina's
song "Independence Day" placed at #50. For More Information On This Event ...
MARTINA MCBRIDE CELEBRITY AUCTION BRINGS IN RECORD SETTING AMOUNT FOR THE
YWCA OF MIDDLE TENNESSEE!!!
Posted on Wednesday, June 11 2003
Nashville, TN (June 9, 2003) – Martina McBride’s YWCA Celebrity Auction brought
in a record breaking $86,000 yesterday - more than in any previous year and up
$24,000 from last year’s total. Hundreds of eager fans crowded into the standing
room only tent on the grounds of the Hall of Fame Park in downtown Nashville, TN
on the final day of Fan Fair.
Martina McBride, who has now hosted the charity auction for ten years, surprised
fans and organizers alike when she announced to the crowd that she was putting
up for bid, a recording session at her husband, John McBride’s new state of the
art recording studio. “We’ll let you sing any song you like. John and I will
produce it and we’ll bring in my band to back you up,” announced Martina to the
crowd. John McBride added with a grin, “We might even find someone to sing
background vocals for ya!” After going back and forth between two eager bidders,
the session sold for $8,000. Not to miss a great opportunity to raise money for
a needed cause, Martina and John generously added another session to the second
bidder for the same price.
Other high bids of the day were for a platinum plaque for Martina’s Emotion CD
that went for $4,650 and handwritten and framed lyrics to her hits “Independence
Day,” “Where Would You Be” and “Concrete Angel” that went for $3,300, $2,500 and
$3,500 respectively. One fan picked up a Les Paul Guitar signed by Chris Cagle,
Collin Raye, Blake Shelton, Alan Jackson, Kenny Chesney and Brad Paisley for
$3,200. Another, an autographed Anton Breton Charlie Daniels souvenir fiddle
with case and autographed photo for $2,300.
Fans were also treated to special guest appearances throughout the day. Chris
Cagle auctioned his crock pot for $500 and sold the shirt off his back and the
shoes off his feet for an additional $650. CMT host Katie Cook auctioned a CMT
“100 Greatest Songs of Country Music” t-shirt signed by all the participating
artists of the television special for $425, the gown she wore at this year’s CMT
“Flameworthy Awards” for $350 and four backstage passes to the Grand Ole Opry
for $850. Nashville Star contestant Jamey Garner auctioned one of the
autographed Nashville Star
Martina was on the cover of Country Weekly, May 13th, A story with lots of
photos of the McBride family "dream home" and how Martina has been redecorating.
A
compilation Album titled "Remembering Patsy Cline", due September 9th from MCA,
features a wide spectrum of female singers taking their turns with songs
popularized by Cline, who crossed over from country to the pop charts with a
string of hits in the late Fifties and early Sixties.
John

the past number of years, and it felt like time to review it all in one solid

I’ve had a lot of wonderful things happen in my career. Still, hearing your name

especially when you’re nominated alongside such amazingly talents.
Help support the Fannie Battle Day Home by bidding on one of the many items
currently available on our eBay auction!!
Here is
